As the Futurebody Project is in its last year, we came together for a final big meeting in Berlin, titled FUTUREBODY: The Gathering, an interdisciplinary and interprofessional experimental event organised by our German partners from KIT-ITAS and University of Freiburg together with TU Berlin’s Ethics Lab on September 2, 2022.
The event brought together people from science, art, academic and non-academic backgrounds, and all kinds of other professions to discuss the present and future of the human body from each of their various theoretical or practical perspectives. In addition to these collisions of different worlds of thought and practice, the event featured dance and art performances. While participation in FUTUREBODY: The Gathering required registration, as participants could also join online, the final event of the program was open to anyone who wanted to join: a screening of 10 BIO·FICTION films. The film screening was followed by a lively panel discussion with Professor Dr. Thomas Stieglitz from the University of Freiburg, Wenzel Mehnert from TU Berlin and Sandra Youssef from Biofaction, and it was moderated by project partner Prof. Dr. Oliver Müller from the University of Freiburg.
